    West Side Middle's Volunteer Program

    19 years and counting

My name is, Karen Roe, and I recently replaced Kathy Copeland as the Community Coordinator for West Side Middle School. The goal of WSMS' "An Hour for Our School" is to bring parents and community members together to foster growth of the school through volunteering in order to better serve our students. Volunteering is very beneficial!

If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form which you can find after you click on the "Volunteer Forms and Resources" link to the left. You can either email the completed form to me or print it out and return it to the main office of the school. If you need me to print out the form for you, please either call or email me to let me know and I will send the form home with your student. Once I receive the form, I will contact you to provide further instructions and/or forms before you can begin.

If you were a volunteer for the 2015-2016 school year and would like to volunteer again, please let me know!

    Volunteer Opportunities at WSMS:
Opportunities range from photocopying for a teacher, to being the head person for an event. It is all based on what your interests are, what your time constraints are, and what you would like to do. There is a form in the WSMS Handbook to fill out that lists all available opportunities.

    Current needs:
    • Volunteers to make copies for teachers
    • Chaperones for school field trips
    • In-class volunteers
    • Mentors for all of GPS. See side bar on the left for the link to Mentor Training details.
    • P.T.O. members!  All parents are encouraged to join!
