The new “standards-based report card” ties your child’s performance to the state’s academic standards. Each standard reflects what a child should know and be able to do by the end of the grade level.  In order to give an accurate picture of your child’s progress, these standards are assessed on the growth expectation at the end of each trimester rather than what a child needs to achieve at the end of the school year. Students will be assessed as: exceeding grade level expectations, meeting grade level expectations, progressing toward the grade level expectation, and needs more time to meet grade level expectations.  In addition, this report card standardizes the level of expectation across the district in every classroom.
