Before starting homework, I find it is important to set up the following at home,
-Choose a quiet, well lit area for your child to have as their homework area.
-Choose a time that works best for them.  For some children, it might even be in the morning before school.
-Please remember to send the homework back to school when it is due.  Homework is a direct extension of what we are learning and will go a long way in helping your child to meet Kindergarten goals.

Reading books are sent home Monday through Friday nights.  Please read with your child every night.

Fundations homework (literacy) will be sent home every Wednesday.  The homework does not need to be sent back to school but is an extension of activities that we do in school.  Our fundations program is the cornerstone of how we teach your children to read so please complete this homework regularly.

Math homework packets will be sent home every Friday.  These packets will be due back to school by the following Thursday.

This year we are also piloting a new literacy program called LEAD 21.  There is a homework component to this program and information regarding the homework will be sent home in the first couple of weeks in the school year.

Remember that if your child becomes frustrated it is OK to stop and start on another day.  If frutration continues, please let me know.
Thank you, in advance, for helping your child with their homework.
