We have a lot of winter activities to look forward to!  Our class is participating in the Connecticut Invention Convention program.  We are working on our inventions and will show them to the public on March 22 here at school.  On May 4, the three winners from each 5th grade class will attend the State Invention Convention at the University of Connecticut, which will be held at Gampel Pavilion.  We are also going to the Mystic Seaport Planetarium on February 26. The planetarium staff will visit our school to present an Outreach Program. On April 4, we will be going to see Freedom Train at the Garde Theater. Coming up soon on (Saturday) February 2, we will have our Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebee's Restaurant in Groton to raise money for our field trip to the Boston Science Museum  on May 31.  There we will see an Imax movie as well as attend a program at the Planetarium there. Lastly, we will hold our DARE graduation in February. The actual date is not yet determined!
